Morw about the workshop
This one day class will begin with a short discussion on what life drawing is and can be and why we do it, with examples from my own life drawing practice journey.
I will then offer live demonstrations throughout the day, with our model giving us a mix of short poses increasing in length, as we build up to longer poses in the afternoon.
Materials
You will try a range of dry materials like charcoal, graphite, oil and soft pastels. You will get the chance to try out playful techniques that help cultivate an experimental have-a-go attitude.

Anyone teally but this one is appripriate for complete beginners, folk building a portfolio for applying to Art school or seasoned artists wishing to improve and experiment with other drawers. Jen will be on hand to support, encourage and share insights from a wealth of experience as a practicing professional artist with a life drawing practice that informs her work.
The Tutor
Jennifer Robson is a figurative artist based in Fife. She is a Duncan of Jordanstone College graduate and a life drawing tutor at the University. She also has a home studio in Ladybank where she offers weekend workshops and weekly classes.
Jen works in graphite, pastels and oil paint. Her work explores humanity's connection with nature. She creates meditative detailed drawings of the figure in and as nature itself, bodies become landscapes, erupting from the undergrowth, inhabiting the vibrant and relentless power of nature. A woman's reaching body becomes a tree, or the Artist's face emerges from the chaos of plants, struck by the awe of the natural world. Jen is also has an experimental life drawing practice which informs her work as a life drawing tutor, which in turn influences her practice.
Testimonial
'I have been attending Jen’s classes for a number of years now and continue to do so because she keeps things fresh and interesting. She has an excellent and varied pool of models to draw upon and offers a wealth of approaches to drawing the figure. What is particularly appealing about Jen is her obvious passion for the subject and how she loves to encourage her students to engage with the process whatever their level of ability. Her classes often range from complete beginners to seasoned artists like myself making for a stimulating and fun experience.
Jen understands the challenges students come up against as she is constantly learning and stretching herself through her own artistic practice and brings this knowledge with her to her classes. I would highly recommend them'
