Scared of the Paper Drawing Workshop

June 08, 2019

12-4.30pm
£65

Treat yourself to a day of drawing just for you! Get back into your drawing or just have a go if you’ve never tried it but fancy being creative.

Does a blank piece of paper give you the PRESSURE even though you really want to make art and just draw? Do you ever want to draw/create but have no idea where to start? Do you want to improve your drawing and feel more confident in making art? If so, this is the class and the tutor for you!

Scared of the Paper is a different kind of art class, focussed on finding the joy in art again.

Throughout this day workshop you will be guided and encouraged to embrace your own style through drawing to music (inspired by art therapy) and automatic drawing (as pioneered by the Surrealists). There will be opportunities to reflect and discuss your work with other students in a supportive atmosphere, within a small class, and with one to one tutor attention.

This class is suitable for anyone from complete novices who have always wondered what artists do all day, complete beginners, amateurs and professionals can benefit from the artist’s knowledge and experience as a practicing artist of over 10 years.

Testimonials

‘It was fantastic to explore a wide variety of materials: papers, inks, dyes, bleach, pastels, chalk, graphite, wire. Yes drawing with wire was terrific and I’m happy with my series of strange little insects. I got great enjoyment from a story Jen read in class and produced a whole set of pictures based on the same figure and setting. This class offers the freedom to work to your own interests in a guided and nurturing environment.’

'Relaxing class, greatly encouraged by Jen. Confidence expands the longer you are there.'
